Reading God’s Word as a Next Step

What’s up Next Level Church!?

Just over two years ago I found myself at a crossroads. I was in my fifteenth year of full time ministry and I could sense God was calling me into a new season. But what was it? Where was he taking me? I had dreams, possibilities, but no real direction. It was then I decided that something had to change.

I’ve followed Jesus since my freshman year of high school. I’ve had a crazy, fun, faith-trusting ride along the way. And now at this crossroads where I found myself I realized that if I am going to continue to follow God’s lead I have to step my game up.

I had to put my money where my mouth was. Talk the talk. Walk the walk. I can keep going, but you get the idea, right?

When you find yourself walking into a new season of life, staying close to God is crucial. If God spoke to you, would you be open to even hearing what he had to say? I’m not talking about an audible, booming voice from heaven, but a nudging. A confirmation from those you trust. A sense of clarity that the next steps you take are where God wants you to move.

So how do you know you’re following his lead? Psalm 119:10-11 says, “I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”

Reading God’s Word is a great next step. You can trust that God will be able to speak to your heart and show you what he desires for you by taking the time to read his word. I can promise you it has transformed my life completely.

So maybe your next step is committing to read God’s Word everyday for the next seven days. I challenge you! Try it! See what God teaches you in this new season!
